Why is this the season to splurge your entire paycheck on beauty products? You shouldn't, but if you are it really is 'cause your skin/hair is taking a big hit with all the UV rays, sweat, gunk, goop, and humidity. I believe in investing in different products specifically for summer & winter -it's the best way to take care of your body!
1. Nars Monoi Body Glow
Two words --> Summer. Glow. For reals, people. It's light, thin, and doesn't make your skin sticky like most moisturizers do. Added perk? The Monoi oil (made from Tahitian tiare flower + coconut oil) is a natural misquito repellent. Someone say camping?
2. L'Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator
Whew, what a mouthful of a name. I like a dewy complexion even though my sweaty ass forehead achieves that look almost seamlessly. Use this badboy for a silky sheen summer glow after applying all your make up. Forget racking up points at Sephora, walk to your nearest drugstore to pick this up.
3. Farsali Rose Gold Elixir
If you're no stranger to Youtube beauty videos, then you might have already heard of Toronto-based make-up and beauty guru Farah Dukhai. Less than a year old, this gold in a bottle of a moisturizer have taken plight on Instagram. Use it as a daily moisturizer or as a primer before you apply make up, your skin will drink it right up, like a Friday night when you're tryna get white boy wasted. To our dismay, everything is sold out on her site, but check back frequently!
4. Living Proof Dry Shampoo (Perfect Hair Day)
Best selling dry shampoo on the market? Must I say more?
5. Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist spf 50
Alright alright, alright. If you have been following my blog (which I beg that you do because... love me.), you know I am a subliminal purveyor of daily sunscreen application. While sometimes I am a hypocrite of my own preach, I do try to apply sunscreen when I can remember. You're not alone if you'd rather have flawless make up than worry about protecting your skin from UV rays, cuz light, non-greasy, no white residue, works well with make up sunscreens are few and far! But the best thing about this product is that you can apply before make up AND (repeat.. AND) after make up. There is a GOD!
6. Tatcha Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen spf 35
Another sunscreen for all you peeps who aren't a big fan of mists. The Japanese wild rose extract helps minimize pores and helps top the skin with a smoother, filtered finish with a featherweight feel. fffff. What's also cool? This line is inspired by real geishas and their intense beauty rituals. The zinc oxide & octisalate help protect the collagen, providing an anti aging benefit, reducing the production of sebum which ultimately clogs our damn pores.
7. Missha Signature Essence Cushion spf 50
One of the best things to come out of Korean beauty. I love how it has everything you need in one compact, I'm lazy and I know you are too. Create a smooth, porcelain finish with a dewy glow with this BB powder while giving your skin some moisture and medium coverage. This is great for someone with combination skin, but if you're more on the oily side, I recommend something with a little less shine -- or roll out those blotting papers.
