Some pointers and tips for those of you in for purchasing your first pair. I am petite and know that most thigh highs out there won't look good on me (too much boot material going on), so I tend to look for "over the knee" boots that come up past the knee about two-three inches or so, enough to elongate the leg and not drown it.
Now if you're not the type to splurge on shoes, here are a few options that won't damage the bank too much.The Stuart Weitzman Highland over the knees that are infamous with celebrities are incredibly cute, but not for us non-models with a slightly larger calf circumference (thanks, high school basketball...). It's a slip on, so imagine trying to put on long socks without any stretch. Do try to get one with a side zipper. It'll be more comfortable and easier on your life.
