Before anything else! On October 13, H&M will unveil a vending machine at its New York City flagship store (589 Fifth Avenue); anyone who makes a purchase of $50 or more will receive a token to use in the machine. Once you get your hands on a fancy Wang-designed water bottle, you might just win a lucky golden ticket! Customers who find the coveted winning tickets will have the opportunity to attend either the collab's launch party on October 16 or a VIP shopping event on November 5th — yup, that's a full day before the collection hits the racks.
I'm quivering with excitement like a Golden Retriever in the sight of a bacon treat. Holy shit. I, along with most Gen Y girls out there, have been awaiting this day since A.Wang's announcement during Coachella back in April. Meanwhile, we've been going about our mundane routine lives hoping this day would come faster, well... it's that time. NOVEMBER 6th -- get in line, bitches. Come rain, come shine. Or if you're not about that life, go to HM.com

I was pretty disappointed with the fast fashion retailer's collabo with Isabel Marant last year (wow, has it been that long?), I think this year will recuperate itself. Though, the bias is palpable -- Alexander Wang never upsets and that's the rule of thumb in the industry. Not to come off snooty, but I've been a fan since his first few collections after Parsons. There weren't many model-off-duty, sporty chic brands out there at the time, and voilà... In comes a quirky, petite asian man with mid length hair who goes and revolutionizes everything downtown cool-girl-esque -- inspiring too many contemporary brands to come.
This collection encompasses everything his core brand stands for -- laidback, comfy, bold, and sleek. Emphasis on that sleekness. He uses the KISS principle (keep it simple, stupid) so well and the best among leading designers this day and age to do so -- intertwining and meshing raw fabrics like jersey, neoprene, denim, and nylon to name a few. You can definitely tell he had a lot of fun creating this line --from logo emblazoned boxing gloves and tees, leather backpacks, killer lace-up hills, mesh separates, to oversized outerwear. I can't wait to freeze myself to death waiting in line for this! Who's with me? Hit a sister up on Twitter! @urbanbetsy :)
