Urban Betsy: Gold Rush

Suit up! I've been obsessed with metallics this spring... This is a trend I know will stay for awhile --and I'm not usually one to follow trends. It's sort of interesting how metallic pieces can create make an outfit really POP. You don't have to OD like I did here, but a simple metallic piece in an outfit can be oh so chic, like a gold tee, or silver jeans or sandals.

Summer is around the corner and I can't wait to travel again and see family! While I haven't planned anything exotic this time around, my road map will definitely include the usual favorite Asian countries-- Cambodia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan! Before embarking on my Asian tour, I'm stopping by Dallas to see my little brother graduate high school. I'm one proud older sister! What are your plans this summer??

One last thing, I'd like to give a big shout out to Urban Betsy Senior a.k.a. Mama Kao, my best friend, the funniest and most genuine person I know, my shopping buddy, the life of the party, my rock, my heart and soul... I LOVE YOU so much! Happy Mother's day to all you amazing ladies out there!

Here are some of my favorite looks from the Punk: Chaos to Couture themed Met Gala this year...

Those who don't try too hard are often the ones that make my best dressed list. The "Punk" theme did lead to a lot of mishaps and outfit disasters (you know who I'm talking about, starts with a K and ends in a WTF?!). Edgy/Classy Glamour is one of my favorite looks, so you already know how excited I was to see how this was going to pan out. I must say, although I wasn't jumping on the couch with utter excitement with every outfit that came down the redcarpet... I did get a mini orgasm seeing Rooney Mara in that banging Givenchy lace gown. Perfection.
